After flying high against the IDEA Parmer Wizards on Tuesday, the San Juan Diego Catholic Saints came back down to earth. San Juan Diego Catholic received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 69-55 to Austin Achieve. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Loss or not, San Juan Diego Catholic got some senior leadership from Max Duarte who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds and Armando Garza who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Duarte scored a full 32.7% of San Juan Diego Catholic's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aidan McCormick, who scored 9 points.
San Juan Diego Catholic has fallen quite a ways from their 25-10-1 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Austin Achieve, the last time they lost on the road was back two weeks ago. Having now won three straight away matchups, they've pushed their record up to 3-5.
San Juan Diego Catholic will play host again and welcome Griffin School, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Griffin School comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Austin Achieve's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lago Vista at 9:30 a.m. on December 7th.
