The Tooele Buffaloes struggled with assists on Thursday (the Brighton Bengals had 1000% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tooele took a serious blow against Brighton, falling 70-28. Tooele was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-11.
When it comes to explaining why Tooele lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aleah Ashby. Despite the final result, she scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Brighton was led to victory by Sophie Nielsen and Taylor Workman. Nielsen scored 12 points along with 5 steals, while Workman scored 16 points along with 4 steals. Nielsen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Chin, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Tooele and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Brighton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tooele will take on Kearns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kearns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday. As for Brighton, they will play host again and welcome Corner Canyon, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
