We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Desert Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Santa Rita on Thursday as Desert Christian made off with an 18-1 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Desert Christian as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Samuel Alday was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Desert Christian got a massive performance out of Caden Esquerra, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Esquerra has posted since back in April of 2024. Jonathan Camacho was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Desert Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Rita struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, while Horizon Honors put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Veritas Prep. Horizon Honors blew past Veritas Prep 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Desert Christian, Horizon Honors also got a great game from a two-way player: Zach Hull. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over 6.2 innings pitched. Hull has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Lucas Holweger was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Horizon Honors and bumps their season record up to 7-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Desert Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Desert Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Horizon Honors struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
