The Monticello Panthers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 35-25 victory over Liberty on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Monticello also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Amiah Neails had an outrageously good game as she scored 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Hutchins, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Monticello's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Liberty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Monticello will look to defend their home court on Monday against Washingtonville at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Monticello focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to challenge Beacon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaconpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Liberty in New York (Beacon is ranked 220th, while Liberty is ranked 718th).
