The Santa Rosa Panthers were the 64-61 winner over the College Park Falcons when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Santa Rosa fell 57-50 to College Park on Thursday. Santa Rosa just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Santa Rosa's loss came despite strong showings from Jacob Nichols and Arlo Mischke. Nichols scored 13 points, while Mischke scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Mischke hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Elijah Hansen, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Connor Whittles was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with four steals for College Park. That's the first time this season that Whittles grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Deegan Sullenger, who scored six points.
Santa Rosa's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for College Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.
Santa Rosa's road trip will continue as they head out to face Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Casa Grande is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. College Park will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Piner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
