The Fenwick Friars will venture away from home to challenge the Marmion Cadets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fenwick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Fenwick's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on De La Salle with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Friars.
Fenwick got a great performance from Diego Tafolla as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Tafolla has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Morgan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Andrew Henderson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Fenwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Marmion had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Luke Young tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Kevin Schultz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple. Charlie Zebig also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
The win got Fenwick back to even at 9-9-1. As for Marmion, their record is now 13-8-1.
Fenwick took their victory against Marmion in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Friars repeat their success, or do the Cadets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
