Pawnee is 0-7 against Nokomis since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pawnee Indians' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Nokomis Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Pawnee came up short against Williamsville and fell 43-30. Pawnee has not had much luck with Williamsville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Nokomis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 53-32 loss at the hands of Central A & M. While losing is never fun, Nokomis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Central A & M is ranked 75th).
Despite the loss, Nokomis saw an underclassman step up: Kinley Stolte scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Stolte continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Mehochko, who scored two points.
Pawnee now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Nokomis, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
Pawnee came up short against Nokomis in their previous matchup back in November, falling 45-33. Can Pawnee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
