There's no place like home for the Lutheran Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 51-45 W over Palmer Ridge on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Lutheran, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lutheran got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Berkley Schneider out in front who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists. Schneider has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayda Vigil, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Palmer Ridge still got an impressive performance from Delanie Mcmullen, who scored 15 points. Kylie Mayer was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lutheran's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Palmer Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Discovery Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday. As for Palmer Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Lewis-Palmer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Lewis-Palmer is ranked 59th, while Palmer Ridge is ranked 74th).
