The Everglades Gators managed to keep up with the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Everglades was dealt a 77-50 loss at the hands of Pembroke Pines Charter. Everglades has not had much luck with Pembroke Pines Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Everglades lost, one person who can't be blamed is Daunte Foster, Jr. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Chaz Chambers, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Pembroke Pines Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremy Elyzee out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramez Zayed, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everglades will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Miramar at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they will square off against Cooper City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cooper City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Pembroke Pines Charter is ranked 21st).
