Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rickards to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jariyah Jordan, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. That's the most points Jordan has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Genesis Henry, who went 6-for-14 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds.
Rickards smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 20 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Bishop Kenny's strategy against Fort Walton Beach on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Bishop Kenny blew Fort Walton Beach out of the water with a 48-12 final score. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 22 points or more this season.
Bishop Kenny's win came from a few key players Rickards will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Abby Baker, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 12 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 60% in the last seven games she's played. Kathleen Crawley was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.
Rickards' win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points over those games. As for Bishop Kenny, their record now sits at 25-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rickards has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 40.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bishop Kenny struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Rickards lost to Bishop Kenny on the road by a decisive 34-18 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Rickards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
