Basketball Game Preview: Johnsburg Central Jaguars vs. Indian Lake Central Indians

The Johnsburg Central Jaguars will head out to take on the Indian Lake Central Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Johnsburg Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.

Johnsburg Central will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Varsity Opponent, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Everything went Johnsburg Central's way against Varsity Opponent on Tuesday as Johnsburg Central made off with a 46-26 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Jaguars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Johnsburg Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Sauer-Jones led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. Sauer-Jones is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Liam McKinney was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Indian Lake Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Wells and fell 84-54. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 846th, while the Wells CSD are ranked 403rd).

Indian Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Johnsburg Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Johnsburg Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Indian Lake Central in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Johnsburg Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
