Baseball Recap: Oak Forest Academy Extends Winning Streak to Six

Oak Forest Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past the Bowling Green Buccaneers 8-2. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brody Thomas looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Kaul Perkins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Blayke Danna was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Oak Forest Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Bowling Green, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Oak Forest Academy will challenge Parklane Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bowling Green, they will head out to take on Columbia Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bowling Green surely won't give up without a fight.
