Adrian is 9-1 against Archie since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blackhawks will be playing at home against the Whirlwinds at 4:30 p.m. Adrian has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Adrian came up short against El Dorado Springs on Monday, falling 18-3.
Addy Mizell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Archie and Hume, and Archie kept the tradition alive. The Whirlwinds were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Hornets on Monday. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Whirlwinds this season.
Kyleigh Wilson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Archie got a massive performance out of Madison Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Wilson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elsie Parsons, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4.
Archie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win got Archie back to even at 3-3. As for Adrian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Adrian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Archie struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Adrian's way against Archie in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Adrian made off with a 21-3 victory. Will the Blackhawks repeat their success, or do the Whirlwinds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
