Carroll scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Fort Wayne North Side on the road to the tune of 76-32. With that win, Carroll brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carroll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddie Gawthrop, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Gawthrop scored 15 or more points. Jersey Paul was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Snider faced Northridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fort Wayne Snider secured a 50-44 W over Northridge on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but Fort Wayne Snider sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Tia Phinezy was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zyann Phinezy, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Fort Wayne Snider, their victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Carroll have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 43.5% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Snider struggles in that department as they've made 45.1% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
