The Cypress Creek Bears waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Celebration 58-36. With Cypress Creek ahead 36-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Cypress Creek can attribute much of their success to Ethan Nolan, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Elijah Torres, who scored 11 points.
Several Storm players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jedaiah Sankitts, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Edouard, who scored five points.
Celebration struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cypress Creek racked up 14 assists.
Cypress Creek is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Celebration, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Creek will take on Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osceola knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Cypress Creek likes a good challenge. Celebration won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Harmony presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Celebration in Florida (Harmony is ranked 85th, while Celebration is ranked 658th).
