If the Cedar Key Sharks were riding high off their 67-47 takedown of the Bronson Eagles on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cedar Key was dealt a 63-13 loss at the hands of Chiefland on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cedar Key has scored all season.
Chiefland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Davies out in front who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Davies is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Laila Ingram , who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Cedar Key's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Chiefland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Key will challenge Ocala Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chiefland, they will head out on the road to face off against Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
