Loyd Star will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against St. Andrew's Episcopal on Thursday. Loyd Star blew past St. Andrew's Episcopal 13-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hornets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jordyn Kees was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Loyd Star is undefeated when Kees posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Cunningham, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Loyd Star was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bogue Chitto entered their game against Enterprise on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Bogue Chitto took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Enterprise. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alex Michael Roberts was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Roberts was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Tripp McCaffrey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Tucker Kyzar was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Loyd Star moved to 7-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Bogue Chitto, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
