Crestview extended the longest winning streak in Inter-Tri-County - Large this week by beating Springfield, 58-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Rebels.
Collin Gilbert and Nick Blower gave Crestview a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Gilbert threw for 64 yards and two touchdowns, while Blower ran for 252 yards. Gilbert also contributed to the rushing game with 60 yards on the ground.
Jake Ohlin was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers fell to Paul Cusick's team. Ohlin racked up two receptions for 28 yards. Alex Wharry helped Springfield's passing attack out by catching one ball for 22 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Jonathan Baker of Mineral Ridge is the league leader in passing yards this season with 972. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, the Rebels' Blower has rushed for 1002 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Dimitri Gregory. The Crestview star has 10 catches for 254 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Crestview takes on United. The Rebels have allowed 79 points this season, while the Golden Eagles have given up 133. Crestview allowed 7 points last week as it beat Springfield.
The Rams made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,316 from 9,638. The advance stemmed from a 28-12 victory over East Palestine last week.
