After a string of five wins, the Douglas Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Whitinsville Christian 44-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Douglas has scored all season.
Douglas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Gosselin, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Gray, who scored 12 points.
Whitinsville Christian found their leader in underclassman Gabe Deters, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deters has scored all season. Caleb Deters was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Douglas' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Whitinsville Christian, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Douglas' road trip will continue as they head out to face Hopedale at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Whitinsville Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sutton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
