The Providence Cristo Rey Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight defeat. They fell just short of Herron by a score of 44-42. Providence Cristo Rey was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Achaeans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Herron's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Yarborough, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Ashu Price, who scored nine points.
Providence Cristo Rey's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Herron, their victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Cristo Rey will take on the at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Irvington Preparatory Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.5 points per game this season. As for Herron, they will be playing at home against the Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sheridan is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.8 points per game this season.
