After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jamestown, Bruton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Gloucester Dukes. The Panthers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since November 6, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Bruton was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-21.

Addison Newman Newman paced Bruton's offense, picking up seven kills. Newman got some help from Annalise Wood and her ten assists. Wood also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kristen Goodwell, racking up four apiece.

Bruton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Gloucester, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bruton will face off against rival Warhill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gloucester is set to take on their familiar foe Poquoson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
