Elgin came out on top against Shawnee on Thursday thanks in part to Mason Thornton's efforts. Thornton scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3, which was good enough to set a new career-high in stolen bases.

Coming up, Thornton and Elgin will challenge Fort Cobb-Broxton at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Elgin hasn't beaten Fort Cobb-Broxton recently, having gone 0-3 since April of 2021.
