Softball Recap: Indian Lake Drops Season-High Score on Graham Local

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indian Lake). They never let the Graham Local Falcons get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bre Wisener made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Addison Stinemetz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abigail Elliott, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Indian Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .606. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Indian Lake's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Graham Local, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Indian Lake will venture away from home to square off against Bath at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Graham Local, they will welcome Urbana at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hillclimbers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.06 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
