There's no place like home for the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over The Master's Academy on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lake Lure Classical Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Da'Zirus Watkins, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Watkins is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Andre Staley, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
The Master's Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aiden Holiday, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Ben Davis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Lake Lure Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for The Master's Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Lure Classical Academy will square off against Christian Family Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Family Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three contests. As for The Master's Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy is ranked 598th, while The Master's Academy is ranked 585th).
