It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Padua Franciscan had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They snuck past the Bedford Bearcats with a 54-49 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Bruins sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Woodgett III, who shot 42% from the field en route to 17 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaivon Hudson, who posted ten points.
Padua Franciscan's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Bedford, they moved to 17-8 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
Padua Franciscan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-41 defeat against Garfield Heights on the 4th. Bedford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
