Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Notre Dame Academy had won three straight road games and Kiandrey Thomas did his part to make it four on Wednesday. The Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds claimed a resounding 106-65 victory over Utopian Academy for the Arts thanks in part to Thomas, who went 11 of 20from beyond the arc on his way to 50 points in addition to five assists and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played.

Despite the loss, Utopian Academy for the Arts saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Adam Smith went 6 for 7 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Smith. Jace Franklin was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Notre Dame Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Utopian Academy for the Arts, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Notre Dame Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 92-78 defeat against Patriot on the 5th. As for Utopian Academy for the Arts, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-48 loss against Lamar County on the 6th.
