The Tarboro Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Washington County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tarboro has three straight wins, Washington County has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, Tarboro strolled past Rocky Mount Prep with points to spare, taking the game 50-33. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Tarboro has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Washington County lost to Gates County on the road by a decisive 66-48 margin on Friday.
Tarboro now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Washington County, they bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Tarboro came up short against Washington County in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 43-33. Can Tarboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
