Even though the Itasca Wampus Cats have not done well against the Italy Gladiators recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Itasca strolled past the Gladiators with points to spare, taking the game 46-27. For Itasca, this counts as revenge for the 54-46 defeat the Gladiators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Despite the loss, Italy had strong showings from Hannah Scott, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds, and Ta'nyria Fennel, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Scott is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Janek, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Itasca's win bumped their record up to 15-19. As for Italy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.
