A Season-Best Performance from Landyn Hiles Leads Mescalero Apache over Lordsburg
Landyn Hiles produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Mescalero Apache to the win on Friday. Hiles rushed for 273 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
This season, Hiles has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 145.2 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had six rushing touchdowns.

Jaxon Odom and Co. Win 18th in a Row
Jaxon Odom's big game helped extend Melrose's winning streak to 18 on Friday. Gateway Christian had no answer to Odom as he rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown. Odom was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.
Melrose's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Odom and Melrose will be playing in front of their home fans against Mescalero Apache at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Melrose Gets a Boost from Roybal in 62-16 Win
Josiah Roybal's big game helped extend Melrose's winning streak to 18 on Friday. Gateway Christian had no answer to Roybal as he threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown. Roybal got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 50 yards.
For the season, Roybal has thrown 21 touchdowns while averaging 176.3 passing yards per game.

Brayden Eldridge Turns in Season-Best Performance
Melrose picked up their 18th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Brayden Eldridge. Eldridge produced his best game of the campaign : he picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 60 yards.
On the year, Eldridge has caught 11 touchdowns while averaging 83.1 receiving yards per game.
