Basketball Recap: Brewer Piles Up the Points Against Vinemont

Brewer waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They really took it to the Vinemont Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-37 victory. With the Patriots ahead 37-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Leading Brewer to victory were Cam Ballinger and Cason Oden. Ballinger went 10 of 15 on his way to 23 points, while Oden went 5 for 10 en route to 10 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ballinger a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Dunn, who posted four points.

Brewer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Vinemont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Brewer will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kate Duncan Smith DAR at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Vinemont, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Bernard Prep at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
