The Boone Central Cardinals had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 55-48 win over Ord. That's another feather in the cap for Boone Central, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Chanticleers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Hinrichs, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hinrichs hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Talan Bruha, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Boone Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Ord, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Boone Central will head out on the road to square off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Guardian Angels Central Catholic is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Ord will take on Wood River at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
