The Luther Prep Phoenix will head out on the road to square off against the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Luther Prep is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Luther Prep strolled past the Blue Knights with points to spare, taking the game 46-30.
Meanwhile, Living Word Lutheran put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 81-27 win over Messmer at home. Living Word Lutheran has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Living Word Lutheran got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Delaney Winkelmann out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Winkelmann posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Kaleah Alles, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Luther Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Living Word Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 17-0.
Luther Prep came up short against the Timberwolves in their previous matchup on Friday, falling 55-49. Can Luther Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
