St. Charles and the Linganore Lancers will round out the year against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Charles put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Laurel 63-29 on the road. Given St. Charles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Laurel is ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McKenzie Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 36 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of St. Charles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyoko Johnson-Reeves, who scored three points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Linganore took their match on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 61-15 win over South Hagerstown.
St. Charles pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Linganore, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
