The Lakeside Lutheran Warriors won the last time they faced the Mount Horeb Vikings, and things went their way on Saturday too. Lakeside Lutheran came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Horeb and snuck past 52-50. Given Lakeside Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Mount Horeb is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Paige Murphy, who scored 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for Murphy. Kieghtan Rank was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Lakeside Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Mount Horeb, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeside Lutheran will take on Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Horeb, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McFarland at 7:15 p.m. on December 15th. McFarland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
