The Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Madison Cubs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

While Greenwood Christian Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Greenwood Christian Academy had strong showings from Russell Conder-Romero, who had five digs and two aces, and Hayden Johnson, who had ten digs and six kills. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 17 games he's played dating back to last season. Vance Boyce also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Meanwhile, Madison didn't have quite enough to beat Silver Creek on Tuesday and fell 3-2.
Madison actually scored more points across those five sets (98-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 16-25, 14-25, 25-15, 15-10.
Greenwood Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Greenwood Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
