Leading Academy Charter to victory were Joel Beard and Elijah Limehouse. Beard dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Limehouse scored ten points along with nine steals. Beard has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Jordyn Maxwell was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Academy Charter's victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Varsity Opponent, they dropped their record down to 286-1119-2 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.
