Basketball Recap: Jace Marsh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead ALA - Anthem South over Heritage Academy

On Tuesday, the ALA - Anthem South Titans came up short against the Heritage Academy Heroes and fell 58-48.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Marsh, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Marsh has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Medrano, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Danye Sypho continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Heritage Academy, going 10 for 18 en route to 28 points along with six boards and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sypho has scored at least a third of Heritage Academy's points. Justin Barksdale was another key player, putting up ten points and six assists.

ALA - Anthem South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Heritage Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

ALA - Anthem South has already played their next contest, a 57-43 loss against Odyssey Institute on the 22nd. As for Heritage Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-55 defeat against Tempe Prep on the 24th.
