Pike Valley simply couldn't be stopped on Friday, as they easily beat Linn 58-8. Pike Valley were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Pike Valley got off to a slow start in their contest last week, but they had no such trouble against Linn as they cruised to a 38-point first half. Meanwhile, Linn couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 38-0 heading into the break. Pike Valley put the matchup away in the third quarter with 20 points from the offense and eight points allowed from the defense.
The win got Pike Valley back to even at 4-4. This is the second loss in a row for Linn and nudges their record down to 1-7. Both of these squads appear to be finished for the season, as they have no upcoming games scheduled.
