Softball Recap: White Knoll Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for White Knoll, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Spring Valley Vikings get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Thursday. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.

EG Birchmore looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mia Sciacca was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jaida Gay, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

White Knoll's victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Spring Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

White Knoll will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lexington at 7:15 p.m. on the 22nd. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Spring Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against West Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
