Volleyball Recap: Downey Extends Winning Streak to Three

Downey had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Lincoln Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Zaniyah Corneille paced Downey's offense, picking up 15 kills. Corneille got some help from Norah Niskanen and her 15 assists. Corneille was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Downey's win bumped their record up to 23-8. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Downey wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Central Catholic on the 11th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Quarry Lane on the 11th.
