Lafayette Jefferson is 8-2 against McCutcheon since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lafayette Jefferson has eight straight wins, McCutcheon has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Lafayette Jefferson against Muncie Central as the squad secured a 55-22 victory. The Bronchos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lafayette Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trysten Barrett, who threw for 386 yards and five touchdowns while completing 79.4% of his passes. Barrett has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played. A healthy portion of Barrett's aerial production (166 yards to be exact) went to Omar Williams Jr, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lafayette Jefferson's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Aaden Aytch was the leader with 2.5. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15. Ka'Vion Campbell-Walker was another major factor on D, forcing two fumbles and making 20 total tackles.
Meanwhile, McCutcheon came up short against Indianapolis Lutheran last Friday and fell 23-13. While the Mavericks had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Saints 7-0.
Lafayette Jefferson will need to focus on slowing down Jaymar Johnson Jr., one of several McCutcheon players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 91 receiving yards and one score.
Lafayette Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for McCutcheon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Lafayette Jefferson has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 308.1 passing yards per game. It's a different story for McCutcheon, though, as they've been averaging only 137.1 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
