Central Christian Academy lost against the Fairfield Falcons back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Central Christian Academy took a 68-50 bruising from Fairfield. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Central Christian Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Fairfield is ranked 235th).
Fairfield was led to victory by Calen Wente and Connor Fowler. Wente dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds, while Fowler scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Fowler's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Brodie Snodgrass was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Central Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Fairfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Central Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wichita HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on January 30, 2024. After both having extra time off, Fairfield and Chase will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
