The Spring-Ford Rams will head out to face off against the Phoenixville Phantoms at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring-Ford is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Spring-Ford fell victim to Boyertown and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The shutout was out of character for the Rams seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Spring-Ford got a good showing from Ethan Freed, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Freed has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Spring-Ford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Witmer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Phoenixville and Owen J. Roberts had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Phantoms put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 14-2 win on Monday. Considering the Phantoms have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Phoenixville also got a great performance from Cadin Coleman as he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Coleman also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Phantoms are 6-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Giovanni Vito was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Phoenixville's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Bobby Gray, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Phoenixville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Phoenixville's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11. As for Spring-Ford, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Spring-Ford couldn't quite finish off Phoenixville in their previous matchup back in April and fell 5-3. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
