After a string of four wins, the Morrill Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Hyannis. Morrill has not had much luck with Hyannis recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Morrill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Pittman Ashwin, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Ashwin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Green, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Morrill's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Hyannis, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
