The Century Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by McMinnville at home and fell 35-7. Century was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McMinnville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Even if they lost, Century's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: McMinnville's QB was sacked six times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Garrett Wells and his three sacks.
McMinnville can attribute much of their success to Nick Gibson, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Century's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for McMinnville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.
Century does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McMinnville will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mountainside at 7:00 p.m. Mountainside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McMinnville in Oregon (Mountainside is ranked 20th, while McMinnville is ranked 68th).
