The Napa Grizzlies lost against the Wood Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Napa took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wood. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Napa in their matchups with Wood: they've now lost nine in a row.
Napa lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gael Bazounguissa , who scored ten points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Christian Williams, who scored 14 points.
Napa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Wood, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-7.
Napa will head out on the road to face off against Santa Cruz at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Santa Cruz focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. Wood will be home for the holidays to greet Tokay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Tokay's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
