The Crismon Rattlers will take on the Bradshaw Mountain Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Crismon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Crismon fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Prescott on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Badgers by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rattlers, who until this contest were averaging 3.78 runs allowed.
Kenny Wilsford was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaden Lopez, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Bradshaw Mountain had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against Eastmark by a score of 9-5 on Wednesday.
Dylan Lockwood made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
In other pitching news, Jeremy Reynolds looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Donovan Bayard was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Drew Strader was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Bradshaw Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Crismon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-8.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Crismon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. However, it's not like Bradshaw Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
