Quincy and Maxwell are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Quincy barely beat Portola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans blew past the Tigers 17-1 on Tuesday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.
Lancen Walke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Walke was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Blake Sigle looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

Back at the plate, Jake Thackeray was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Quincy is 5-1 when Thackeray posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Noah Wade, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Quincy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Maxwell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 11-8.
The team relied heavily on Vincent Orozco, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Colt Montgomery was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
The win made it two in a row for Quincy and bumps their season record up to 10-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Maxwell, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.
Both Quincy and Maxwell just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Maxwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.1 hits.
