Lee County hasn't had much luck against Estill County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Engineers at 6:00 p.m. The contest will give Lee County their first taste of in-conference action this season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Bobcats on Friday. Lee County lost 11-2 to Breathitt County.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Estill County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Owsley County on Monday. The Engineers were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Owls / Lady Owls. Considering the Engineers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Dawson Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kooper Powell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Griggs, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Estill County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owsley County only posted an OBP of .421.
Estill County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lee County, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.
Lee County suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Estill County when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
