The St. Amant Gators's game on Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 93-75 win over Broadmoor. Given St. Amant's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Broadmoor is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Broadmoor saw an underclassman step up: Jason Pitcher dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. Pitcher scored a full 42.7% of Broadmoor's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jai Baker was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 11 rebounds.
St. Amant is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Broadmoor, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
St. Amant will square off against East St. John at TBD on Friday. Broadmoor is on the road again on Thursday and play against Dunham at 4:30 p.m. on December 7th.
